Last Friday was the last day of our 2015/2016 homeschool year. The kids learned quite a bit, even though there were times I didn't think they were learning.
Some goals that were accomplished: completion of Life of Fred: Pre-Algebra 0 with Physics, completion of Mystery of History Vol.1, completion of Zoology 2 and 3, and being able to read at least 1 chapter book per month.
Some things that went to the wayside: French, Latin and Jump-in (writing curriculum). These are in a holding pattern and may be revisited down the road.
The kids also took on the responsibility of taking care of our chickens and, most recently, ducks. They have also earned money by selling the chicken eggs.
Sam has broadened her horizons by writing. She is in the process of publishing her first book.
Nick continues to enjoy drawing and has been engrossed with computer games.
Summer break is going to be a bit longer than usual as they will be doing projects with dad...helping with the completion of building our house.
I am already looking ahead to the 2016/2017 year...more on that later.
Great job, Nick and Sam!!! Mom and dad are very proud of your accomplishments.
