For the whole month of May, the kids take 'spring break'. During this break, I plan out the next school year and wait patiently for curriculum to arrive. I also replenish our supplies which include paper, pencils, crayons, markers, colored pencils, notebooks, 3-ring binders, etc.
Once I receive all the curriculum that will be used, I read through it and start making mental plans. Those mental plans will then be sorted out into a schedule of sorts. Do I stick to the schedule? Sometimes. I usually tweak the schedule once the Nick and Sam have worked on lessons for about 3 -4 weeks.
Having a soon-to-be 7th and 5th grader is a bit daunting, but worth every minute I take making sure they get a great education.
