In a couple of weeks, the kids will begin the 2015/2016 homeschool year. I have been reviewing curriculum, made a few purchases and now it's time to put it all together.
During the 'May' break, I asked the kids if they wanted to learn a foreign language. Surprisingly they both answered yes. Another surprise...Nick asked to learn Latin and Sam asked to learn French. So what is a mama to do? Honor both requests.
After some research and asking around, Nick will be using the Lively Latin curriculum. From what I have read, this one seems to be the right fit for him.
For Samantha, I purchased Spot-It: Basic French and Kloo games. I also purchased this workbook as well.
Both Nick and Sam are looking forward to the challenges of learning a new language and honestly, so am I.
For Science, we will stay with Apologia and Nick has decided to study Zoology 3: Land Animals of the Sixth Day and Sam has decided to study Zoology 2: Swimming Creatures of the Fifth Day
For Math, the kids will continue with Life of Fred and will begin the year with Decimals and Percents.
For History, the kids will continue with Mystery of History Volume 1. They will start with the 2nd Semester (3rd quarter).
Spelling and Vocabulary will be taken from their history, science and daily reading.
My next post will be the schedule of all the above.
