Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

"The war against Voldemort is not going well; even Muggle governments are noticing.  Ron scans the obituary pages of the Daily Prophet, looking for familiar names. Dumbledore is absent from Hogwarts for long stretches of time, and the Order of Phoenix has already suffered losses.
And yet...
As in all wars, life goes on.  Sixth-year students learn to Apparate - and lose a few eyebrows in the process. The Weasley twins expand their business.  Teenagers flirt and fight and fall in love  Classes are never straightfoward, though Harry receives some extraordinary hel from the mysterious Half-Blood Prince.
So it's the home front that takes center stage in the multilayered sixth installment of the story of Harry Potter.  Here at Hogwarts, Harry will search for the full and complex story of the boy who became Lord Voldemort - and thereby find what may be his only vulnerability." (taken from the inside front jacket of the book)

Six books down and one more to go.  What can I say about this book that won't spoil it for you?  So many different angles and yet such a great page turner.  We do learn more about Voldemort as a young boy and we also got to see Dumbledore's thoughtfulness and caring toward his students.

We now begin the final book of the Harry Potter series and look forward to finding out what happens to all of the characters that we both like and dislike.

It is so great to have these books in our home library so that we can enjoy them years to come.  Thank you again, Miss Nancy for your generous gift :)
