Week 5 and 6 Wrap-up

The past two weeks have been very good in the learning department.  The kids completed their second bridge in Life of Fred and I am very happy that they are beginning to understand the dynamics of Algebra.  They passed their latest test from Mystery of History Vol 2 and have learned quite a bit from Pentecost to Bark-Kokhba (leader that was part of the 2nd Jewish Revolt in A.D. 135).  Zoology is coming along just fine.  I think they will be completing their perspective books by the end of the next 6 week block.  Vocabulary has been interesting to observe.  In the past 6 weeks, the kids have learned 25 vocabulary words.  They have looked up the definitions, used the thesaurus, made sentences using the words, and alphabetized them.  My favorite part of the vocabulary exercises have been reading the sentences.

Yesterday, we ended the 6 week block with a field trip to the Joseph Smith Birthplace Memorial in South Royalton, VT:

We took Sister McCuiston and Sister Galbraith with us.  After visiting the site, we took the sisters to Denny's for lunch.  We all had a good time.

Next week is a "break" week for the kids.
