Plans for 2015/2016... part 2

Yesterday I wrote about our curriculum choices for the 2015/2016 homeschool year.  Today's post is a tentative schedule.  Tentative because the schedule could change depending on how things are going.

For Morning Lessons:  anytime between 8am and 11am

Reading Time - 1/2 hour.  This is anything that Nick and Sam want to read.  They will have to read at least 1 chapter book per month, possibly 2 if the books are not too lengthy.

Scriptures - They read a chapter a day from the Book of Mormon, if the chapter is not too long.

Spelling/Vocabulary - The words will be taken from their daily readings, science, history or from daily conversations.  Nick and Sam will be using the dictionary, thesaurus and their imaginations.

Science - Both Nick and Sam will work at their own pace and will have daily reading and journal pages to fill.

Jump-In (writing) - this curriculum will be used 2 to 3 mornings a week, depending on how well they do their assignments.

Language (Latin and French) - only if needed for review

For Evening Lessons: anytime after 4:30pm or when mom gets home from work ;)

History - 3 nights a week

Language - (Latin and French) 4-5 nights a week, depending if mom has any work or church related meetings.

Math - 5 nights a week, depending if mom has any work or church related meetings.

This pretty much is our plans for the 2015/2016 year.  The year starts June 1st and our schedule runs 6 weeks on, 1 week off, with 3 weeks off for Christmas Vacation.  We will then start back up in January and will end the year around April 30th.

I will try to keep posting updates throughout the upcoming year, so stay tuned...
