Last week we took a break and started back up this week with the following lessons:
MATH: The kids are continuing with Life of Fred - Butterflies and worked on chapters 7 - 12. They have a few more chapters left and then onto Life of Fred - Cats. We are really enjoying this curriculum and I personally love how the kids are learning more than math.
COPY WORK: I have had the kids copy work sentences and I made up for them. So far, I have had Nickolas re-do one sentence. He was not very happy about the re-do, but he did it and realized that when he does take his time, he does better.
READING: The kids have continued to read library books and have also listened to "Flat Stanley" too.
READ ALOUD: We finished The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick. What a fantastic story!!! I don't know who enjoyed it most :)
We are currently reading The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster. We hope to finish by next week. Any suggestions for our next read aloud?
DELIGHT DIRECTED: Computer time, reading, playing with legos, drawing, helping dad with mommy's chevy.
LANGUAGE ARTS: Nick and I started working in his Yellow Book from the Language Arts Through Literature curriculum. We haven't worked in it since July. It was good to get back into the lessons today.
