Wrap-up Week 16 and a September Farewell

Week 16 was like any other week of lessons...

MATH:  Nick continued working on his lessons.  He is almost finished with Math 2 Book 2 and has been doing a pretty good job. I asked him if he wanted to continue to Math 3 Book 1 and he answered with an emphatic "Yes".  Sam did a couple of math lessons (odd and even) and will be starting Life of Fred - Apple in a week or two.  I am looking forward to having 'Fred' in our lives and will post a review once we get started with it.

COPY WORK:  Both Nick and Sam did pretty good this week.  A few complaints here and there, but nothing too bad.

READING:  Library books were the choice this week!

STORY OF THE WORLD VOL II.- I read Chapter 2 and 3 to the kids.  We did map work of Augustine and his travels to Britain and the formation of Christianity as well as map work of Constantinople.  The kids also learned about Emperor Justinian and Empress Theodora.

DELIGHT DIRECTED:  Sewing, legos, drawing, helping with dad on the house project, playing in mud, helping with meals.

September was a month that the kids look forward to each year.  Why?  It was their birthdays!  We started the month off by going to Maine for the weekend to visit Uncle Paul.  The kids had a great time and really loved going to Fort Knox and the Fair.
A few playdates with their friends Collin and Emmakka at the Canaan Elementary School playground as well as many visits to the Canaan Library.
Nick and Sam helped Scott with the house project and had a great time running through the new living space.

September finally cooled off and the kids have been outside enjoying the weather and Sam has caught many toads...

September has been good to us...See you next year.
