Wrap-up Week 6

This week was a pretty good week of lessons:

MATH:  Nickolas continued to work on his addition, subtraction (borrowing and 1000 place values), multiplication of 1,2,3,5,6, and 9.  Today, Nick was introduced to pre-algebra!  (example:  2 + N = 7)  Samantha continued with addition and subtraction.  She also worked on graphing, telling time and word problems.

COPY WORK:  Both are doing a good job.

READING:  Nick is working on a chapter book: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl and Samantha is reading misc picture books.

LANGUAGE ARTS THROUGH LITERATURE:  Lesson 4 - within the lesson was continuing to learn about suffix endings -ing, -ed, copy work of a literature passage, silent letters gh in LIGHT, and review of proper nouns.  We will finish up this lesson tomorrow.

DELIGHT DIRECTED:  Drawing, painting, working with sculpy clay, sewing, reading, computer time, playing outside

FIELD-TRIP:  Visiting the Grafton Historical Museum on 7/09/2011 and watching demonstrations on spinning and watching a blacksmith shape metal.
