Wrap-up Week 3

This week the kids worked on the following:

Math:  Nick continued working on his 3x's as well as reviewed his 1's,2's,5's and 10's (multiplication).  He also worked on roman numerals.  Sam worked on addition and subtraction and began subtracting with numbers from 10 to 19.

Copy Work:  Both Nick and Sam are doing better each day with their copy work.  Sam has done much better with the bigger lined paper.

Language Arts through Literature:  Lesson 2 - introduced to synonym's, compound words and adding suffixes -ing and -ed.  (I didn't plan on doing lesson 2 this week, but the kids really wanted to continue instead of doing lessons twice a month)

Unit Study - Ancient Greece:  This week we started learning about Ancient Greece.  Our lessons included geography, the Trojan War, Social Studies (what it was like to live in Ancient Greece)

Reading:  Nick and Sam have been reading daily and have been doing a great job.

Delight Directed:  Drawing animals (i purchased 3 Draw Write Now books for the kids to use), reading, knitting (Sam), Computer time

Read Aloud:  We finished A Lion To Guard Us earlier this week and plan to start a new book From The Mixed Up Files of Mrs. Basil E Frankweiler.

Great job kiddos!
